CALJ/ACRS Annual Conference 2022

A huge thank you to CALJ members who responded to our survey seeking thoughts on how to plan our annual conference next year. We were impressed by the number of journals represented in the survey and the quality of feedback given. Although most respondents voted in favour of an annual online conference for 2022, feedback was split as to if we should join the Federation and attend the Congress virtually as we did in 2021, or plan our own CALJ conference independent of Congress.

Our Newsletter Will Now Be Quarterly

The Communications Committee is approaching the newsletter in a new way! We are going quarterly. Our goal is to provide you with a brief view into the work of the Association, timely and interesting resources, discussion of issues, and promotion of events. You may know of events or resources from other allied sources that could be included as well.

If you have something you would like to add to the newsletter, send the information to Carolyn Fast for inclusion in the next edition. Please send information by the first of the month for the issue dates below.

CALJ Executive Director Update

As many of you know, after 8 years of dedicated service to the Canadian Association of Learned Journals and our members, Ken Clavette, Executive Director, made the decision to retire as of November 19, 2021. Ken has been instrumental in maintaining CALJ operations in working directly with members to welcome new and returning members, maintaining membership accounts, and collecting member feedback. Ken has provided corporate continuity throughout the terms of 4 presidents and supported CALJ through continuous change.
