TOPIA: Canadian Journal of Cultural Studies

Description:

TOPIA provides a venue for critical thinkers in the domains of culture, nationality, technology, environment, gender, race and the politics of space and time. It publishes historical, theoretical, critical and experimental essays on culture that are accessible to a wide readership in the humanities and social sciences. TOPIA includes a substantial book review section offering summaries and critical discussion of a wide range of new writing in cultural studies. E-TOPIA, an on-line site for past issues and interactive projects, is in development.

Areas of research relevant to TOPIA are the historical, institutional and aesthetic formation of Canadian culture; analysis of visual art, film, television, music, literature and popular culture in Canada; the sociology of museums, galleries and the art market; the evolution of environmental geopolitics, city planning, architecture, landscape and new approaches to nature; and cultural studies of science and technology.
